2018.1 Dynamic Holes for Access Doors not creating hole
« on: Sep 06, 2017, 19:36:55 PM »
I am not sure if its a new setting causing the issue but CID#504 which we use for access doors is not creating a hole. I use the same ITM in 2017 and it makes the hole correctly. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Are we talking about update 2018.1.1 released today?

Sorry. Yes I am on 2018.1.1

Anyone else installed this release yet and can test this out and confirm if it is a bug?
(Unfortunately I am on 2016)

2018.1.1 was classified as a hotfix.  Unless they failed to document it, it only address performance issues when opening up Plant3d projects. Shouldn't have had an effect on this.

In case anyone is following this, we found that placing the Access Door with the attacher method will develop the hole, but placing the Access Door manually and then using the command UPDATEDYNAMICHOLES will NOT place the hole in 2018 but will in 2017.

ok to be clearer. the hole is there when you attach to the duct and do not move it or updatedynamicholes. As soon as you move it and updatedynanicholes the hole disappears. It works fine in 2017

Just to be clear so that Autodesk are aware, was this problem there in the 2018.1.0 update or has it just appeared in 2018.1.1 update?
If anyone hasn't updated from 2018.1.0 to 2018.1.1 yet perhaps they could check?

Not likely this is caused from .1.1, I cant test it though in 2018 or 2018.1. Regardless, its been submitted as a bug and it has been confirmed.

Hi, just bumping this, anyone had success with access doors CID#504 working with dynamic holes. I just check 2023, but I'm still not getting holes to work. I'm wondering if anyone has a workaround, like using a branch of some sort?

Oddly enough I was just looking at this issue today, which brought me to this thread.

MAJ Export out of revit applies a hole.
If the straight has CID#504 plus another tap / shoe / spigot. The pattern shown for those pieces implode looking like ninja stars.
Running "Updatedynamicholes" fixes the ninja stars. Reapplying updatedynamicholes, only adds holes for the spigots / shoes / taps etc. Will not add holes for pattern 504 Access Panel.

I find that the UDH or Updatedynamicholes doesnt work for Access Panels, but do work when they are attached manually.
