Takeoff information on multiple items
« on: Feb 19, 2009, 16:45:45 PM »
Is there a way to do this - edit the Takeoff Information on multiple items?
When I go into folders mode and right click on an item, do I have to do it one at a time?

Yes unfortunately. I emailed Andy a while back about this issue and he said all the takeoff info for the CAD side is a fitting by fitting basis.

You can make the same items show up on all items.  It is in the Multiple Item Properties box Via the Set Carry Over Values box.

Ken,
I've messed with the Multiple Items Properties Tab before, and never had success with it.
When I open it up, it doesn't reflect any of my current items. Have you gotten it to work?

Ken I think James is talking about the way the ITEM tab is setup in all the service template fittings. All of these have to be done individually.

*bangs head agains the wall* Okay, I was going on the fact that my Custom Data fields show up on everything because they are set to always.

Jab, editing each item individually is the only way to go.

I didn't search, but I'd post that in the wish list.

You could try this guy. I am not a coder by any stretch of the term but i think this is the only way to handle these kinds of things.

Yes, it's in a different post... Lyle Janda provides a solution on the second page. Hope this is what you're looking for or a quicker workaround.

"Add entry in takeoff information for all (or many) Items at a time"
