Creating a report by layout.
« on: Nov 18, 2020, 16:48:43 PM »
Has anyone had luck figuring out how to make a report that combines all the items on one layout. I've looked and haven't been able to find any item property that links them to a specific layout tab. We are using sections to separate the floors but occasionally when taking off bulk cut in items we are forgetful to change the section on those. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi. You've probably found some sort of solution by now, but I don't think you'd be able to automatically separate out the items by layout tab as they effectively all exist together in the 'Global' tab. The 'Global' tab in ESTmep is effectively the 'Model' tab from AutoCAD, so the layout tabs are just views of this.

There is a 'drawing name' property for items, so you could select all items on a layout manually then assign a certain drawing name/number, and create a report that separates the items out by this.

Unfortunately I have not yet. Our support company tell's me it is possible but are asking me to pay for a new report to be made. However if it's just a report where we assign a drawing to the design line/items. I can do that.
I was hoping there was some hidden property on each item linking the to a layout tab.

I don't think there is any way to do what you are asking. It would be a nice feature though.
The only way is to use some sort of properties/custom properties field. Like Zone, Drawing, etc. and just assign everything on that layout tab to that then separate your reports by that field.

That won't get around the fact of someone actually having to remember to input the data into that field though.
