Modify / MEP Fabrication options randomly stop working
« on: Oct 09, 2024, 21:50:20 PM »
Sometimes, and for no reason I can figure out, when I select an item the Modify option stops including the MEP Fabrication commands/options that normally pop up.  When this happens, I can't use any of my hotkeys for MEP Fabrication commands either.  My only solution has been to sync and shut down/restart Revit.  Maybe I'm hitting a hotkey or function key that is triggering this?  Anybody else have this issue and know of a way to get it back without having to restart Revit?

I had this issue when I had created hotkeys that were too closely related to a out of the shortcut keys. Align seemed to be on that comes to mind AL and I would do ALD for aligned dimension, well that doesn't work as it gets confused because of the AL in front. not the best example but that's what comes to mind.

You may need to get creative and change your hotkeys and add something like a Z in front of it to get it to differ from other commands. I noticed this especially in bigger models where it may take a second longer for the key to activate.

Also if you have keyboard shortcuts that you have saved and go to import, I used to do Merge with other keys and it worked fine back in the 2017/2018 years then it started acting up after that. I now do Overwrite the keys and that seems to work best too.

Best of luck!
