Multiple size waterjet tables
« on: Oct 07, 2024, 01:11:41 AM »
Has anyone here managed running 2 different size waterjet tables for cutting insulation? We have a a 20' waterjet at one shop and a new 10' we are getting at the other shop. We would like to be able to send insulation to either machine according to workload. I am thinking I will need a different insulation "material" for each machine. Then assign the material for the correct machine using script and process. We have identical fitting cutters with identical table sizes so the nest can go to either one without issue on the metal side. I did some testing, but I may have to do "save as" then delete the metal nest to be able to change the insulation to the shorter machine.

I think I have this figured out. I made copies of all my insulation materials and renamed. I made the copies nest for the 10' machine and resized the material for the 10' machine. If we want to go to the 10' instead of the 20' I run a script to change the insulation BEFORE I run my regular process. Everything appears to nest right then. The new machine should come online in a couple weeks, so we shall see.
