When we did our testing and tracking we used a project with roughly 10k hangers and we were getting over 99% accuracy.

this is slick AF.  You must be better reading plans than I am if you nail the flutes with that sort of accuracy.

(on a new deck construction project) If the contractor has decided to prefab hangers and expect hangers to come out to exact length, the contractor should choose an insert that allows for all inserts to be placed at the elevation of the high point of the flute.  This will save time for the detailing team and reduce the amount of hanger rod length variations.

We use field verifications to lay out the flute centers. then either model them in revit or the script has a +/- comparison and marks the hanger accordingly.

the real key is getting good layout of the deck off column. i have done it on new builds as well. just get the iron head some beer and tell him to nail his c-c layout. my experience with iron work is they consistently hit their centers.
