Scripting in CAMduct
« on: Mar 07, 2025, 15:34:09 PM »
We process MAJ files we receive from other contractors to produce their duct. I'm interested in learning scripting because there are many little tweaks that we make to each item individually so that they will work with our shop equipment.
Can anyone tell me a good source to help me learn how to begin with scripting? I've tried a few times to investigate it but haven't ever really gotten anywhere with it.

Darren Young has done several Scripting classes that have recordings. Here is one of them. I know you are asking about CAMduct but the execution is the same.

Also, tons of scripts and/or samples on this site you can copy/paste. Just search the word Script or .cod. You can make a .cod from the basic Notepad tool on all Windows machines. You just change the extension from .txt to .cod then go execute it in CAD/CAM/EST.

You can also get copilot or some other AI but my experience is that its never 100% correct on the formatting.
