Why isn't my insulation showing?
« on: Nov 19, 2025, 20:38:54 PM »
I recently set up a new profile for a duct job. After a day or so a user complained that insulation is not showing when insulation spec is set in Revit. Tested in Fabrication and had the same result (Where duct can have insulation applied but not show). Talked to other users and found a profile that insulation is working correctly in. After looking back and forth between the 2 profiles I cant see a single insulation relevant setting that would make them work differently. For some reason the insulation is being set automatically on services in the working profile but not in the new profile where insulation is not visible. The service and service templates are the same between the two as well. What other parameters can control insulation visibility?

I understand that this is not a wealth of information to troubleshoot off of, but I will check this thread often and answer any questions anybody might have about my setup in order to figure this out.

Looks like this is not the issue. Double Wall seems to be configured the same way you have it. I don't think it has anything to do with the way the insulation materials were setup. Like I said above, I have a profile that this insulation is showing correctly on and I printed the insulation material page on both of them and compared in Bluebeam and they are exactly the same. It seems like some other setting is controlling making it visible...

Silly question but any chance insulation overrides were ticked in the service configuration?

In Revit, does the Insulation option shows in Properties when selecting a fitting?

IF so, try viewing the fitting in a new floor plan view/section/3D view that has no view template applied. that might rule out view settings in revit... if you haven't tried that already.
