Design Line Estimating to CAD

Is anyone using the feature of Design Line to estimate and then using that estimation drawing as a starting point for 3D duct or pipe coordination drawings? If so how is it working out or is editing and changing the design line more time consuming than just starting from scratch?
Any input appreciated.

We will the day that MAP/EST/CAM puts out a decent tutorial on how to use it correctly. As of right now, without any good instructions, it's all very cumbersome to use...
