What file format or what procedure does the guy using the CAD program need to follow to give me something to feed back through the estimating program?

Probably needs to use the command "CREATECAM" and save it as an "ESJ" file type. Of course the CREATECAM command can be accessed two or three different ways (commandline, right click, etc.) see the help file for more info.

If the CAD key has EST enable, you can also estimate from CAD, if not, like C2K said, you can export to either a MAJ or ESJ file from CAD then open from EST.
To go from EST to CAD, you use OPENJOB, one of those hidden commands...

Gotcha. My Cad guy just gave me his file, it was a .dwg file which I could do nothing with. I found some old jobs that he had sent to CAM, and I guess by doing that he had created the .maj file that I was able to open.
