Rectangular Liner Display
« on: Apr 29, 2025, 20:52:49 PM »
Not really a bug, but it has "bugged" me for years  ;D

Why is it that as we have Liner to use HIDDEN LINETYPE it shows correctly only if the duct has S&D connectors, but if you change it to TDF the liner goes to solid lines, I'm used to seeing it dashed as it works correctly on Round and Oval...

Can this be easily fixed?

Drives me nuts also, I always have to switch Graphics acceleration on and off and Uncheck Advance Material Affects
Not sure why its been going on all these years!

Hi Santos

Checked in with the team on this one. Seems cadbob already has the solution e.g. turning off the 3D hardware acceleration in AutoCAD settings. Once off, new drawings will display dashed lines as expected.

And doing that will not detriment software performance some? If not, then I will try, thanks!

I have been using the software since 2005 and never had this issue.

Wonder what setting is making it a single line, how is your TDF set up?

I looked through everything i can think of for something that may be different in my setup and all I see is in the CTB plot style manager, my apply global scale factor is set to .5 and the box is checked. LOL 2024  ;D

I use Hidden Line Type for Insulation
Set Line type Scale to 48
Uncheck Advanced Material Effects in Graphic Proformace

I dug a little deeper and determined that my lined duct is not affected by the connector. If in the 3Dconfig settings changing the 2D display setting to advanced mode the liner displays solid but plots hidden, if I change it to intermediate mode the liner displays hidden and plots hidden.

Yes I go into all 3 modes and uncheck that!

I did notice that in Database - Takeoff - Current Specs - Insulation
It keeps switching to OFF  (Lined duct will not carry over)
So have to go to setting and switch it to "Not Set" and save

I noticed this last week as I was having Issue with Insulation not Carrying Over even though I had it Checked in Carry Over Options. Drove me nuts till I found the reason.

Not sure if my Setup.MAP and Takeoff.MAP are fubar or they fubar'd it up at Autodesk!
