Oversize Seam Notches
« on: Nov 10, 2011, 14:01:55 PM »
Is there a setting somewhere that will place notches on oversize seams?

For example, if the depth on CID 6 is 130 inches, we want to slice it into 3 pieces. When I do that, there is only one notch in the L-Pits seam on the side pieces, and there are no notches on the center piece.

I've checked everywhere I can think of for the options.

Notching is determined by what you have assigned to the oversize seam you're using. Where you set that up is Database/Fittings/Seams/(select Oversize Seams from the drop-down menu at the top), and double click the seam you want to modify. What notch is used (notch out, notch out female, default oversize, or one from your own custom notches), what angle the seam is notched at on both male and female, and how deep it notches v-notches are all set up there (attached). You might have to play with it a bit to get what you're looking for.

OK, now I understand how to change the over size seam. I didn't know to uncheck the Use Seam in the Notch editor.  However, the notches only seem to change the connector edges of the oversize seam (purple arrows).

I would like a notch at the break point (red arrow). How do I turn on those notches?

You know, I'm not sure you can get it to notch there. Although I've always wondered what the v-notch depth setting was for in the oversize seam setup. Whenever I have to segment a curb cap, they always have to manually notch the seam at the breaks.

I have the same problem , no folding notches in middle oversize part. I see many years this post was created, so maybe any solution for it ? (Tried all options in oversize seam , no luck)

I work a lot with very long slot boxes that needs to sliced . I have to edit all the parts after slicing , that is so annoying.
Is that so difficult to import that feature ?

I believe that should be a function of the roller notch. It does not work. I use the V notch in OPUS to notch my parts so the guys never have to think about it.
If someone has it figured out please share.

The oversize notch is there only for where the seam and connector meets, and it works as it should. The problem is with fold notches , that  needs to add manually in opus.
