Is there a difference in the program content that I get if run the full install without uninstalling my old setup as compared to a clean install.

I ran the setup weeks ago without uninstalling and now this morning I see the little video on the content site saying to uninstall to get all the updates.

If I do need to perform a full intsall then I need to get my company settings and toggles reset quickly.  What would be the best way to get the database, services and ten million other things up and running fast?

Thanks

I have over 3 years worth of updates on my PC, I don't think you gain anything by fully uninstalling a prior version....what video are you referring to?

For you last question....how many hours would you devote daily to set-up? We found that it is practically a never ending process....you will always find something that needs to be tweaked, changed, added, fix, tested, etc etc...

A full install and the update are two different processes.

Jim,
I ran the full install application from the content site.
My existing setup was still on my machine when it ran it.
When prompted I picked the very top option (modify).
There was plenty of new changes made after it ran.

On the download page listing all of your options there is a video playing that shows bubble comments telling what each download is intended to do.
For the 2.38.179 Full Install the comment bubble said to uninstall the old version to ensure that all newfeatures are installed.

I renamed my Map-Software folder and ran the install again, it gave me the same options as before.  Should I select remove all installed features and run again, and is there a real benefit to doing this?

If I do get to a clean slate is there a safe and easy way to get my appropriate settings reinstated?  Services, Custom Data, Toggles, Service Types, Etc.

VP,
I am always doing set-up on some portion of the program I would say I avg 2 hours a day just on the program features.  Departmental and company processes that utilize TSI are a whole other story.

It's there, is it not?
Ah, the link doesn't work...404 Not Found error

I have it, but obviously it is a large file: 408 MB
If someone really needs it we can do an FTP exchange.

Yep, dead link. I've tried a few times to download it.
Funny that you can go to MAP's website (England) and download an american version of 2.38.186
edit note: (It's american CAM Duct, not CAD-Duct)

The URL link is wrong.

http://map-cc.hosting4less.com/UpdateFo ... 02010.exex

Remove the extra X at the end of the link and it should work fine.

This link was broken on purpose. We are in the process of making changes and posting a new installer. I reccomend that you wait for the new installer.

Yes I'm being a bit sarcastic, but I'm also asking a legitimate question
I'd like to do a new, full complete installation, but I have been waiting for about 3 months for a recent full version to be available on MAP-CC's website.

I have a copy of the one that was posted for a bit.  Actually just gave a copy of it to a TSI trainer a couple of weeks ago.  If they don't post one soon I might be able to get it to you.  Hopefully they will just post one.

Don't know for sure what version, I think it's 2.38.179. I downloaded it yesterday but won't be able to install cause we just got a design build job that's a rush to get design drgs out. The file is an .exe with a date of 10/16/2009. I wanted to do a new full install on my laptop for a few different reasons. One is that I've missed several updates and I don't want to do makepat for every CID that I've missed (I'd have to read every CADDuct changes document to know what CID's to makepat on!) I'd also like to see what a recent TSI build looks like compared to the version that I originall installed 5 years ago.

is it possible to do the full install, and then install the updates for 181 and 197...and then replace files from my installl i have now such as services, pressure classes, etc?

or another question...do you really have to install each update or will the latest update have everything up to date with it? we are running 174 right now cuz we've been waiting for the correct full install...

But only from MAP, not MAP-CC. Here is the email I received last week when I asked about it:

Thank you for contacting MAP Customer Care.  Regarding your inquiry on lock 18, we have not yet released a build that requires lock 18.  Our latest build available is 2.38.186 which requires lock 17.   I have attached the changes PDF for CAM that describes what was implemented in the builds for your consideration.  When an update is released it is posted to the TSI content site.  I would recommend checking it periodically for updates.

I've downloaded the new versions from MAP, but since I don't have loc 18 on my key, I can't run it.

I believe there is a difference between the updates and the new "FULL INSTALL" that was supposed to be released.
I don't think the "FULL INSTALL" was ever officially released. Is that a true statement?
