O.K.
let's try...
CAD-Duct Solids has come on in leaps and bounds
over the past couple of years and, unfortunately, some of the improvements
have involved major changes and have been at the expense of backwards
compatibity.
Updating Services...
If you do not have the current configuration
of CadDuct Services, you may wish to import the new services supplied
with the Update.
To import the services, from within AutoCAD type in IMPORTSYS
at the command line (with the application loaded).
Select the SERVICES.IEZ file that
was installed by the update in the Cadduct Solids Installation
folder, Select the Services you wish to Import.
This will add the required Item files/Product lists and populate
the Services with our default configuration.
Using this option will also update your FOLDERS.INI
and add in the additional directories imported with the services.
Updating the Toolbar...
There may be additional commands added to the Toolbar with the
update, if these are not added automatically (because the toolbar
exists) type in TBAR at the command
line for CadDuct to recreate the toolbar with the new Commands/Icons.
0pening older drawings...
If drawing is older than 13th August 2002.
The items would not be drawn with Service Information. The Service
Information controls which Layer the object is drawn onto.
A usual indication of this is that when you edit an object it
is drawn in 'White' on a different layer.
To update the older drawing to the new Services, use the 'Change
Object(s) Properties' command and change the Service from 'None'
to a valid Service.
If a drawing is older than 31st July 2001
...
The database that was originally used to draw the Items is not
stored in the DWG file, this will only cause a problem if you
have completely replaced your database with a new database. In
this case you will need to reassign Material/Specs and Service
to the items.
To reassign the Material and Service use the 'Change Object(s)
Properties', to reassign the Specifications use the CHSPEC
command, typed in at the command line.
Caution, the lengths of Standard Straights (Auto Length) may change,
depending on the length set in the Specification selected.
If a drawing was created with an older Folder
Structure...
i.e, the original Product Lists have now been moved to a server
or different location on the hard drive, when you edit an object
you will not be able to select a different sized object (this
only applies to Product Lists). The reason for this is that when
you edit a product list, an item in the original location is searched
for to determine what other sizes are available, if the original
item is not found, no range of sizes will be displayed.
To fix this issue you will have to change the 'Item
Source Path' of the original objects in the drawing, to
the path of the 'Moved' items.
To do this you should use the 'Match Object(s)
Properties', add into the drawing one object from the New
location, then use the command and select the new object as the
'Source Object', select the other objects as the Destination Object(s)
and tick the 'Item Source Path' in the dialogue displayed.
Conflict with ARX and DBX...
If you have an older Object Enabler installed on the same machine
with the updated ARX, you may experience a crash in AutoCAD if
you use the AutoCAD 'Properties' command, which can be invoked
by Double Clicking on an item. To resolve this issue of double
clicking, set the AutoCAD variable DBLCLKEDIT
to OFF. To resolve the issue when using 'Properties', install
the compatible version of the Object Enabler (same version number).
