Spooling renumbers hangers - local setting?
« on: Apr 25, 2022, 20:20:49 PM »
Hi,

We renumber our hangers on a whole floor before spooling and it has worked great for years.  Now one of our stations has an issue where spooling an assembly renumbers the hangers for that assembly.  Spooling the same assembly on another workstation works fine, preserving the original hanger numbers.  The settings in the spool dialog are identical for the two machines.  They do use separate local spool.ini files though.  Could a setting in that file be the culprit?  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Howdy. I feel like I have been thru this before once. I used this to solve it IIRC

Hey thanks for the quick reply.  I actually already had used Darren's method to map our stations to their own spool.ini files - by the way Darren's site is awesome!  That change "enabled" one station to have a unique spooling problem without affecting others which is good I guess but I still need to figure out the hanger renumbering issue.

It's been a while since I've had to deal with CAD spooling but I would think it would be a combo of these settings in the spool.ini.

Can you not just copy the spool.ini from the working computer to problem system?

Hey Lyle,

I just did that before seeing your reply.  I'll see how it works then look into the settings you noted if necessary.  Thank you!

Here's some added SPOOL.INI settings. This explains the mapping between the dialog and the SPOOL.INI.

Anything else not on the list is fairly self explanatory.

So I don't know if this applies to your situation but I had a user's config for some reason point to the networked .ini file after months of using the local. I never figured out how it got switched. If you haven't already it might be worth confirming the reg keys are still pointing to the local file.
